Species of the Month: March 2015

Daisy: Bellis perennis

The unmistakable daisy is probably present in every lawn / mown grassland area in Wales, yet there are still several 1km squares within the SEWBReC area which have zero records for the species. We hold over 4,000 records for the species, but there are thousands more going unrecorded! There is more information about the Daisy available on NatureSpot.

This map on Aderyn shows the distribution of Bellis perennis at a 10km square level for the whole of Wales. Zoom in or click on a 10km square to see the 1km square record distribution.

If you spot Daisies during March (or see the species at any other time of year), whether it's in an empty square or not, please send us the record, ideally via SEWBReCORD or the LERC Wales App. Instructions on how to submit records are available here.
