Annual Horseshoe Bat Monitoring

The proposed dates for the horseshoe annual monitoring/roost counts are as follows:

Count 1

Friday 29th and Saturday 30th May. Meeting time / place - at 8-8:15pm at Gowerton Car Park (just off the lights by Mill Street and Ffordd Beck - SA4 3ED, What3Words: spoil.cove.issue)

 

Count 2

Friday 12th and Saturday 13th June - Meeting time & Place - 8-8:15pm at Gowerton Car Park (just off the lights by Mill Street and Ffordd Beck - SA4 3ED, What3Words: spoil.cove.issue)

 

For those of you who have not done this before, we are essentially 'counting out' (doing dusk emergence surveys) lesser horseshoe bats from known roost sites on Gower, to feed into the National Bat Monitoring Program.

 

Please bring suitable clothing and a head torch - chair also advisable.

All are welcome. Sessions are suitable for beginners (some kit will be available for those who don't have it). The number of spaces is subject to the amount of kit available and number of experienced surveyors.
