As well as our traditional data provision service (please see Our Enquiry Service for more information), SEWBReC delivers a range of services to both its data suppliers (individual recorders, local recording groups and partner organisations) and the users of its data products and services (including partner organisations and environmental consultants).

Services to local recorders / data suppliers

- Free public level access to all non-sensitive data held by SEWBReC via Aderyn.

- Free full access to data pertaining to species specialism or geographical area (please see Non-commercial Data Requests).

- Assistance with paper record computerisation, transfer of data between database software, and set up / training for online systems such as www.sewbrecord.org.uk and the LERC Wales App.

- Provision of biological recording software (Recorder or MapMate), assistance with installation, basic training and basic technical support for users.

- Loan of books, field and lab equipment via our Loan Scheme.

- Funding for personal and group equipment / training via the SEWBReC Recording Grant.

- Organisation of free events including Gwent-Glamorgan Recorders' Forum, Recorders' Field Days and Wales Garden BioBlitz.

- Production of the biannual Gwent-Glamorgan Recorders' Newsletter.

- Monthly email updates (sign up here).

- Publicity of events via our website events page and social media.

- Assistance with species identification and other queries via our Facebook group.

- Assistance with production of atlases, newsletters and other publications.

- Assistance with the identification of geographical gaps in coverage of existing recording efforts.

- Provision of base mapping (where permitted by SEWBReC's Ordnance Survey licence) to assist survey efforts.

- Assistance with professional archiving of notebooks, recording cards and other documents.
