LERC Wales Symposium

Saturday 25th April 2020 9.30am - 4pm

Centre for Alternative Technology, Machynlleth

A celebration of biological recording throughout Wales, this event will be an opportunity for recorders to learn new techniques and share ideas.

A Wales-wide event to celebrate the great work of biological recorders in all taxa, this symposium will concentrate on the new techniques being used to collect and manage wildlife records.

The morning will include talks on specimen digitisation, DNA barcoding and field survey techniques. During the afternoon delegates will get the opportunity to participate in workshops demonstrating these techniques and learn how they may apply them to their own recording efforts.

This is an excellent opportunity for wildlife recorders in Wales to come together to share best practice and learn new skills.

Please download the agenda for full details of the day, or see the programme for a brief timeline.

There will be an entrance fee of £20 for the event, with some free student places available. Please book your space via our Eventbrite listing.

Lunch will be provided to attendees (fully vegetarian); please state any special dietary requirements on the booking form.

There will be a field trip to nearby NNR Ynyslas Dunes on Sunday 26th April (c10am - 3pm). Please indicate if you are interested in attending this on the booking form.
