SEWBReC has close ties with many other LRCs in the UK. A collective voice for LRCs was launched in October 2009 in the form of the Association of Local Environmental Records Centres (ALERC). LRCs also contribute to the promotion of biological recording in all its forms via the National Federation for Biological Recording (NFBR).
A directory of contact details of all LRCs in the UK is hosted and maintained by the NFBR.
LRCs form key nodes in the National Biodiversity Network (NBN). The NBN works with Local Records Centres and National Schemes and Societies to help their recorders improve standards and to assist them with sharing data. One of the main tools for sharing national and local data sets is the NBN Gateway.
