Botany Mentorship Scheme

As part of the Heritage Lottery Funded Dr Mary Gillham Archive Project, we are running a Botany Mentorship Scheme to encourage the sharing of knowledge from experienced botanists to enthusiastic beginners.

Mary spent her lifetime sharing her ecological knowledge including many years as an Extra Mural Lecturer at Cardiff University, so the inclusion of a Botany Mentorship Scheme in the project will carry on her passion for teaching others about the wildlife of south east Wales.

We have several Mentors signed up to the scheme, and have now launched the process to select Mentees. Mentees are expected to show commitment to the scheme and an interest in wildlife and biological recording. In return, you will gain access to expert botanical knowledge and the opportunity to learn more about the flora of south Wales.

If you are interested in becoming a Mentee, please complete this QUESTIONNAIRE. We are limited by the number of Mentors, so not all applications will be successful. Please complete the questionnaire by Monday 30th January 2017 to be considered.

We would also be delighted to hear from any botany experts who would be able to take on the role of Mentor in the scheme. Please email info@sewbrec.org.uk if you would like to learn more about being a Mentor.
